The Rural Life Committee of the North Dakota Conference of Churches seeks to develop collaborative, ecumenical church leadership in North DakotaAs part of its objectives, the committee works to develop pro-active, ecumenical responses to rural life issues affecting ND communities, and promote a just and biblical stewardship of the land and its resources. Over these past two years, the committee has invited churches, pastors or laypersons to join the North Dakota Green Ribbon Network. The purpose of the network is to connect those who share a common interest of justice for rural people and communities in this state. The network also serves as a way of recognizing those churches and church leaders who are involved in efforts on behalf of rural justice in their communities. The ND Green Ribbon Network has 36 members to date. The committee is currently looking into ecumenically focused initiatives for the NDCC’s consideration.
